WORLD BOOK DAY
On Thursday 1st March the Junior School staff and children took part in a number of events to mark World Book Day. There were many great costumes, as staff and children came into school dressed as a character from a fiction book. During the day the children were arranged into their houses, Brandesburton, Gore, Holderness

SCIENCE AWARDS
As part of Junior School Science club, twelve budding young scientists from Years 4-6 achieved their British Science Association CREST SuperStar award. The award focused on building pupils’ investigative skills by getting them to solve real-world problems. They conducted eight exciting investigations, including whether bread always lands butter side up, how to increase the
which were linked to Roald Dahl’s The BFG, playing our very own school version of Quidditch and taking part in a book quiz and a character treasure hunt. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and a real sense of excitement about books and reading was created throughout the whole school.
