ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS
 HYMERS GOT TALENT
After months of auditions and practising in the Junior School Hall, a hugely successful Talent Show took place in the Judi Dench Theatre on Friday 4th May. Pupils from all year groups took part, with highlights including amazing mathematical challenges, dance groups, singers, guitarists and magicians.
CHILDREN IN NEED
On Friday 17th November the Junior School staff and children took part in a variety of different activities to raise money for Children In Need. Children and staff all came to school dressed in either onesies or pyjamas and their dressing gowns. Children were also able to bring their favourite teddy bear into school for the day. Other activities included a bake sale and the, ever popular, ‘Sponge-a-Teacher’! A Pudsey picture competition was held with entries showing Pudsey following the CARE code and wearing a Hymers tie and a giant Pudsey was made on the Junior School playground using silver coins, all of which were then donated to Children In Need.
The highlight of the day was perhaps in the evening, when the regional BBC Children In Need programme was broadcast live from the school theatre. The Year 6 choir sang beautifully and Rebecca Lee and William North did a fantastic job of being interviewed as representatives of the school Leadership Club.
Well done to everyone involved for making the day so enjoyable and, most importantly, raising money for this worthy cause!
The whole school came to watch the show, which was organised and presented by Year 6 pupils Megan Atkinson and Amy Firman. Very well done to all of the pupils who took part and especially to those working backstage to bring the show together!
